Raised in Northern Michigan by a builder and an antique dealer,

Buhr has been immersed in the world of design her entire life. She launched her first retail brick & mortar in 1991 and founded Ella's eight years later — a boutique with a focus on high-end, ethically sourced apparel, accessories and lifestyle goods.

Faced with the ever growing need for quality home furnishings in Northern Michigan, she quickly sought out furniture brands that would stay true to Ella's brand and ethics.

With her Northern Michigan roots, world travel, and thirty years of experience, Buhr carefully considers the interrelated elements of each client’s unique aesthetic values in order to create classic, timeless, and harmonious spaces that coexist with the natural surroundings.
